This photo is my most successful one of the Dozen Photo Challenge because it shows the "Rule of Odds" technique, while simultaneously showing the back light technique. I also feel that this photo is very pleasing to the eye as the viewer can see the nice colorful sky, the shimmer on the water, and the 3 boats. The most challenging aspect of the assignment was finding subjects to photograph and positioning myself in relation to the sun. In the future to create stronger images, I will get to know my camera settings much better so that the setting aligns with the kind of photo I am trying to take.

This photo is amazing and a great representation of the complementary colors technique. All of the color variants are catching my eye and I love that they are against a darker background, allowing the colors to come out. I also like the way that the sushi was displayed on the plate. I am not sure if catching the orientation of the specific sushi pieces was a part of your plan, but it worked out perfectly. It shows organization in the photo, while also keeping the photo fun and colorful. Great photo Jessica!

Hi Raquelle, I thought this photo was really well shot and very visually appealing! I thought this was the perfect opportunity to use the rule of odds composition and it gave me just enough to focus on. The colors of the water and sky compliment each other and emphasize the calm environment of the photo. My only suggestion I think that zooming out a little bit would create some more negative space and really emphasize the three boats more, or make for a completely different story!
I was immediately drawn to this image when I looked on your page. I love photos that have to do with water, and the focus on the three boats makes for a great image. I find the perspective you took on this image to be so pleasing to look at, and the colors in the water and sky meshing together make me feel peaceful. The sun hitting the side of the boats is so beautiful; you really captured this moment and setting wonderfully! The sun hitting on the side is a good approach on side lighting, and draws a viewer's gaze to the right side of the boats. I also think the exposure along with the colors in this image make it look very concise. You nailed this image, I don't have any suggestions for you. Great job on your photos, especially this one! - Leolina Farinelli

Hi Raquelle! This photo is so amazing! My focus went straight to the boats and the lighting for the image is amazing. I wonder if zooming in less would tell a different story and create a different composition. Also if a different angle would help show the backlight technique you mentioned. The colors of the image are so beautiful and this image was wonderfully captured!
